Degree Conferral Work Schedule (2026 Guide)

The First Batch

1.    By January 20th (inclusive): To Complete submission of doctoral and master’s theses to the Degree Thesis Review System.

2.    January 21st – March 10th: To initiate re-reviews of submitted theses, their re-submissions for review, and preliminary evaluation for the next batch of theses. Submission of new theses for review shall be suspended temporarily.

3.    February 27th – March 13th: To open Graduate and undergraduate degree application systems.

4.    By March 9th (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on reviewers’ comments and complete the thesis defense.

5.    By March 13th (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on defense committee feedback and compile all degree-related documents for submission to the department/faculty.

6.    By March 17th (inclusive): Departments/faculties submit degree materials to the University Degree Committee Office.

7.    Mid to late March (to be expected): Degree subcommittees shall review and discuss degree-related matters.

8.    Early April (to be expected): The first Degree Evaluation Committee meeting of 2026 shall be convened. Afterwards, degree recipients may collect their degree certificates from their respective departments or faculties.

   

 The Second Batch

1.    By April 10th (inclusive): To complete submission of doctoral dissertations to the Degree Thesis Review System.

By April 17th (inclusive): To complete submission of master’s theses to the Degree Thesis Review System.

2.    April 18th – June 30th: To initiate re-reviews of submitted theses, their re-submissions for review, and preliminary evaluation for the next batch of theses. Submission of new theses for review shall be suspended temporarily.

3.    May 6th – May 27th: To open Graduate degree application systems.

May 19th – June 12th: To open undergraduate degree application systems.

4.    By May 25th (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on reviewers’ comments and complete the thesis defense.

5.    From May 26th: Departments/faculties may independently hold graduation ceremonies and degree conferral events.

6.    By May 29th (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on defense committee feedback and compile all degree-related documents for submission to the department/faculty.

7.    By June 2nd (inclusive): Departments/faculties submit degree materials to the University Degree Committee Office.

8.    Early June (to be expected): Degree subcommittees shall review and discuss degree-related

matters.

9.    Late June (to be expected): The first Degree Evaluation Committee meeting of 2026 shall be convened. Afterwards, degree recipients may collect their degree certificates from their respective departments or faculties.

 

The third Batch

 1.   By July 20th (inclusive): To Complete submission of doctoral and master’s theses to the Degree Thesis Review System.

2.    July 21st – October10th: To initiate re-reviews of submitted theses, their re-submissions for review, and preliminary evaluation for the next batch of theses. Submission of new theses for review shall be suspended temporarily.

3.    September 7th – 25th: To open Graduate and undergraduate degree application systems.

4.    By September 22nd (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on reviewers’ comments and complete the thesis defense.

5.    By September 28th (inclusive): To revise the thesis based on defense committee feedback and compile all degree-related documents for submission to the department/faculty.

6.    By October 8th (inclusive): Departments/faculties submit degree materials to the University Degree Committee Office.

7.    Mid to late October (to be expected): Degree subcommittees shall review and discuss degree-related matters.

8.    Late October – Early November (to be expected): The third Degree Evaluation Committee meeting of 2026 shall be convened. Afterwards, degree recipients may collect their degree certificates from their respective departments or faculties. Departments/faculties shall independently hold graduation ceremonies and degree conferral events.

 

Notes:

1.    Each department/faculty shall conduct thesis blind review according to its own procedures. Considering the blind review cycle (generally 30–40 days for expert selection + review approval) and plagiarism check duration (1–2 days), degree applicants shall plan their time appropriately and upload their theses to the system in advance.

2.    If an applicant needs to withdraw his previously submitted degree application due to personal reasons, the withdrawal must be submitted before the deadline when the department/faculty submits materials to the University Degree Committee Office. The applicant shall notify both the department/faculty and the University Degree Committee Office. Withdrawal of the graduation application means the degree application will also be simultaneously withdrawn. Withdrawals due to personal reasons shall not be accepted after the deadline.
