Work Schedule for 2023 Degree Application

The First Cycle

1．The Bachelor Degree Application System opens from February 20 to March 10.

2．The doctoral dissertation shall be submitted for review no later than January 31.

The master’s thesis shall be submitted for review no later than February 10.

The thesis submission is suspended from February 11 to March 6.

3．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to review comments and complete the thesis defense no later than March 5.

4．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to the comments from the Defense Committee and submit the degree application materials to the department no later than March 11.

5．The department shall submit the materials to the Office of Academic Degree Committee no later than March 13.

6．In mid to late March, each subcommittee reviews degree conferral applications.

7．In late March or early April, the Academic Degree Committee holds the first working meeting of 2023.

8．At the beginning of April, the degree recipient receives the degree certificate from the department.

The Second Cycle

1．The Bachelor Degree Application System opens from May 8 to June 2.

2．At the end of March, outstanding doctoral candidates attend thesis defense and submit application materials.

3．The doctoral dissertation shall be submitted for review no later than April 5.

The master’s thesis shall be submitted for review no later than April 15.

The thesis submission is suspended from April 16 to June 30.

4．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to review comments and complete the thesis defense no later than May 25.

5．From May 25th, each department can hold its own graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony.

6．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to the comments from the Defense Committee and submit the degree application materials to the department no later than May 31.

7．The department shall submit the materials to the Office of Academic Degree Committee no later than June 3.

8．In early to mid June, each subcommittee reviews degree conferral applications.

9．In late June, the Academic Degree Committee holds the second working meeting of 2023.

10．At the end of June or beginning of July, the degree recipient receives the degree certificate from the department.

The Third Cycle

1．The Bachelor Degree Application System opens from October 10 to November 2.

2．The doctoral dissertation shall be submitted for review no later than September 5.

The master’s thesis shall be submitted for review no later than September 15.

The thesis submission is suspended from September 16 to November 30.

3．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to review comments and complete the thesis defense no later than October 25.

4．The applicant shall revise the thesis according to the comments from the Defense Committee and submit the degree application materials to the department no later than October 31.

5．The department shall submit the materials to the Office of Academic Degree Committee no later than November 3.

6．In early to mid November, each subcommittee reviews degree conferral applications.

7．In late November or early December, the Academic Degree Committee holds the third working meeting of 2023. After the meeting, the degree recipient receives the degree certificate from the department. Each department can hold its own graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony.

Note:

1．All departments shall carry out their own form of blind review. Considering the time for blind review (30-40 days) and plagiarism checking (1-2 days), degree applicants are requested to complete the thesis ahead of time and upload it to the system.
