FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPERS

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the 16th PhD Student Workshop 2023, which will be held by the graduate school of University of Science and Technology of China during Nov. 3-4, 2023 in Hefei, China. The workshop aims to provide a platform for Mainland and Hong Kong students of the project under the Mainland Collaboration Schemes to discuss their research findings and the latest advancements. The Workshop also aims to advance the participants’ understanding of important issues and frontier research in their own research areas.

The Workshop will primarily focus on the following 13 key areas:

REGISTRATION
Interested students should complete the attached Registration Form and return them to the Workshop Secretariat on or before 31 August 2023 for registration via e-mail (ucworkshop@ustc.edu.cn).
WORKSHOP FORMAT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
The Workshop will consist of oral presentations given by Mainland and Hong Kong student participants and other academic activities. English will be the official language for the entire event. Participants should submit an abstract of about 200 words (including abstract’s title, authors’ names and their affiliations) to the Workshop Secretariat on or before 22 September 2023 via e-mail (ucworkshop@ustc.edu.cn).
ELIGIBILITY
- Students under all CityU’s Mainland Collaboration Schemes
- PhD students of USTC and CityU who are not under the Mainland Collaboration Schemes
Highlights
In order to encourage high quality of presentation, the oral presentations given by students will be assessed by the Panel Chair. The “Outstanding Presentation Award” will be introduced.
